Smelling of candied cherries, cocoa and evergreen fronds, this starts off on a pleasant aromatic crescendo. Alas, the palate is very confected. Combined with the goopy mouthfeel on the medium-bodied palate, this wine’s attack is awkward. Moreover, the pungent, slightly biting acidity feels misplaced. The fruit is clean, but the wine overall is discombobulated. Drink now.
