The deep crimson core is interwoven with black reflections while cola and cedar jump out on the nose. The wine is lightly volatile which actually seems to add to its attractive aromas. Black currants, loganberry, dates and cardamom provide a nicely balanced sweet-savory tension on the palate. The fine-grained tannins and crisp acidity amply support the moderate glycerol and full body. All the flavors linger into a medium-plus finish, where moderate mocha notes from oak become more noticeable. Drink now to 2017.
