A bit reserved and sultry on the nose, the notably fresh and clean aromas have bass notes of black currant, mashed black cherry and licorice. There is also a strong evergreen note that hovers from start to finish. This is a dense, focused and velvety-textured wine. It has ample midpalate heft with good acidic refreshment that is well-integrated in the center-palate. The rambunctious spice notes reverberate through the solid fruit core and into the long finish.
