The extremely pale straw color precedes a pleasant nose of hawthorne, dried peaches and yellow grapefruit. There is a dash of sulfur that is slightly distracting. Crisp acidity accentuates the light body, but there is a wisp of glycerol that adds some midpalate creaminess to prevent the wine from feeling austere. The flavors echo the aromas while adding lemon pith and aloe to the mix. The finish is brief. The overall effect is a clean, lean, integrated wine with somewhat neutral aromatics that is equally good for quaffing as it is for food pairing. Drink now to mid-2014.
