In appearance, the color is deep ruby with secondary hues of magenta. The nose is reminiscent of dried red and black plum, violet and rose petal. The palate exudes floralness, with more rose petal than violet. The red plum turns slightly jammy and red licorice is prominent in the finish. The palate is rounded out by pencil lead, clove and dark and bitter chocolate. The tannins have grit and are expansive. This is definitely a hearty steak wine.
