This Bordeaux-style blend has a black core inflected with deep brown and a garnet rim. The aromas stubbornly refuse to surface, but the palate acquiesces with flavors of mulberry, fresh fig, vanilla, dark chocolate and pine needles. The tannins are broad and slightly chewy while moderate acidity furthers the wine’s tension. Medium bodied with good concentration and a medium-plus finish, this wine may be in a closed stage but it should have more character to reveal in the next few years. Drink 2013–2015.
