This wine’s blackish core is laced with brick—quite surprising considering its young age. Aromas of beef bouillon and crushed leaves are accompanied by saffron and dill. The palate is lightly oily on the attack however, the sandy tannins and elevated acidity cut the mouthfeel short. The mature flavors—void of fresh fruit, despite the wine’s age—linger slightly longer. More rustic in style, this is a wine for red meat enjoy through 2015.
