A dense, black core with a purple hue. The aromatic and sappy nose suggests forest berries, vanilla and graphite. These follow through on the palate, where they are joined by a hint of garrigue. Chewy tannins and a muscular texture make for a foursquare but attractive wine. Good fruit purity and a hint of oak suggest an ambitious wine, but its moderate fruit concentration and short finish suggest this is a wine for consumption over the next two years.
