This opaque wine displays a mulberry rim and a reserved nose. It tastes of muddled mulberries and baked black plums, yet it’s not a jammy, overripe wine, but rather a generously fruit-driven wine. The moderate finish shows some light earthy and leathery notes. There’s a nice combination of freshness with evident development. Perky acidity and smooth tannins make this a good sipper, with or without food. Drink now through 2018.
