This wine is as black as licorice at the core, with a magenta ring. Its dynamic and effusive nose exudes black cherry, baking spice, burnt caramel, toasted oak, mulberry and blueberry. The tugging tannins are complemented by a somewhat muscular mouthfeel that boasts moderate extraction. The generous finish comes with a complex set of flavors that adhere to the palate well after the juice is gone. Drinks fine alone today, but it would show best with a nice roast enjoy through 2017.
