This wine smells of blackberries, black cherries and mocha. Full and broad on the palate, it has excellent acidic tension and lightly chewy tannins to keep it balanced. The palate displays well-integrated, toasty oak, blended in with sloe, loganberry and pleasantly bitter black currant. Big, boastful and youthful, with a moderate finish, this wine could use some time to flesh out in the bottle. Try decanting for at least 30 minutes prior to serving. Drink through 2017.
