A black licorice color at the core, this wine has a youthful, blueberry-tinged rim and streaks of crimson throughout. Full bodied and hedonistically viscous, its medium acidity struggles to support the mouth-coating qualities. Delicately balanced between primary and tertiary, it is decadent in spice and rapturously ripe fruits like mulberries and blueberries. This is an easy drinker by the glass or a good wine by the bottle or carafe in casual restaurants. Drink now through 2017.
