This wine’s appearance shows its got plenty of concentration, thanks to a deep purple-black color. There’s an underlying earthy, woodsy fervor, partnered with gobs of fresh, peak-of-summer black fruits. The midpalate is quite dense, but there’s enough bracing effect of medium acidity and round—though plentiful—tannins to give the wine excellent balance. Given the impressive balance and harmony of flavor, this wine has an inherent “wow” factor, despite its medium-length finish. Drink now through 2018.
