Midnight black at the core, there’s a tiny, purple-magenta rim on this wine. Fragrant and youthful, it smells of boysenberry and blackberry jam. The flavors deliver more of the same and add the complexity of underbrush and graphite. No overt signs of new oak show through. The palate is moderately broad, with notable midpalate weight. Tingly in acidity and moderate in refined tannins, this medium-bodied wine is easy to drink. Drink now through 2016.
